he City is starting a new sidewalk repair program, adjacent property owners must still maintain sidewalks, but adds benefit of bulk bids for labor/material to drive down costs along with payment deferrals and reductions will be possible for low-income property owners. The city will have 10 sectors(not along CD lines) which broken,heaved and missing sidewalks that are trip hazards will be assessed. Property owners will be notified of the hazard with an offer to “opt in” as part of the bulk bidding process.

Nowhere is that conversation more ripe than in Denver where Denver B-Cycle, one of the nation’s first station-based bike share systems, calls home. We already have a well-used, well-known, and well-loved bike share system and the City and County of Denver is waiting to see how dockless fares in Dallas, Seattle, and even Aurora, before permitting dockless bikes to hit the streets. So, for now, we have just one bike share system. Nick provided a vision for what the future of that system may be.

Lloyd Burton – Sierra Club on 1-70,received bad news from the judge on the lawsuit and thinking about a motion to reconsider Random samples need to be taken of soil on dates not known to contractors. He also shared that the national air quality averages though there, can have human health impacts, especially for people with conditions like asthma, are still an issue even if the ratings are lower than standards.

INC ZONING AND PLANNING COMMITTEE MINUTES – MARCH 24, 2018

The March 24 2018 Zoning and Planning Committee meeting featured a presentation on the effort to update the 2000 Comprehensive Plan, a discussion about the recently-formed Group Living Advisory Committee, and the Downtown Area Plan Amendment related to the Central Platte Valley and Auraria, which were not addressed in detail by the 2007 Downtown Area Plan.

INC PARC Meeting Notes March 18 2018

A policy change planned by DPR could make the rules for festival park use apply to ALL parks, which would mean all parks in the system will have the same alcohol regulations, some of which now allow greater use only in festival parks. Please read the proposed revisions carefully and distribute to your respective RNOs and friends. The city’s parks department is circulating a proposal for significant changes to alcohol policy in Parks. Laura Morales and Fred Weiss will attend our April 17 meeting to discuss. Of note: The INC PARC meeting is considered to be one of the 4 public meetings for outreach to the community.

Good registration, $25,000 + in sponsorship received, arrangements coming together well. Andrew Romanoff agreed to be emcee and the Mayor has been briefed about his presentation.
Any future correspondence between INC Chairs and city entities must first be submitted to the President prior to sending to the city.
