Community Forum Regarding the Future of the Park Hill Golf Course Land

Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation Posted on February 27, 2018 by MaggieOctober 31, 2019

SEE THE FORUM HERE

The open space future of the Park Hill Golf Course (PHGC) land could soon be in jeopardy. The PHGC is located east of Colorado Boulevard between 35th and 40th Avenues
Clayton’s PHGC lease with the golf course operator could terminate on December 31, 2018 if the operator fails to exercise its 5-year renewal option by June 30, 2018. If the golf course lease terminates, Clayton is expected to ask the City to relinquish the open space protections of the 1997 conservation easement and the 2000 agency agreement and allow rezoning and development of all or a portion of the land.

Councilmember, community seek voice in university closing

Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation Posted on July 2, 2017 by MaggieDecember 7, 2018

A news release for the event said it could include southwest Denver-area residents, state and local elected officials, Sisters of Loretto members and university faculty, staff and alumni.

“Recent redevelopments around the city have demonstrated that Denver residents have little to no voice in what happens right in their own neighborhoods,” the release said. “Residents are taking the initiative now with the hope of producing a ‘win-win’ for everyone involved, including the new property owner.”

Flynn said he’s been urging the city to acquire the 1,000-seat theater or find a way to retain it as a community building, saying it could be a “revenue stream” and host actors, artists, concerts and the like.
